Some weddings just have personality, and this Wisbech wedding at The Hop Rooms was exactly that — full of heartfelt moments, a beautifully calm wedding morning, unexpected rain showers, and the loveliest couple who embraced every twist of the day with joy.

A Calm and Beautiful Morning at the Family Home in Wisbech

The morning started at the bride’s family home, just a couple of minutes’ walk from St Paul’s Church on High Road, Gorefield. It was calm, cosy, and full of soft excitement — not chaotic at all, but beautifully organised in that warm family-home way.

There were so many intimate moments:
✨ the bride’s mum carefully fastening her dress
✨ a sweet first look with her bridesmaids
✨ and an emotional first look with her dad that had everyone smiling

Once everyone was ready, Pink Pony Club made its first iconic appearance — instantly lifting the energy and turning the room into the happiest little pre-ceremony hype session.

After capturing these moments, I headed to the church to photograph the groom, groomsmen, and guests arriving.

The Almost-Stroll to the Ceremony

Because the house was so close, the bride had the sweetest idea: to walk to the church with her bridesmaids — a relaxed, joy-filled mini procession.

Well… the sky had other plans.

The moment they stepped outside, a few soft raindrops fell. Cute.
Then suddenly… not so cute. The rain picked up fast.

Everyone dashed back inside laughing, regrouping, and forming a quick Plan B. I’d just returned from the church in time to capture this perfectly timed, beautifully real moment.

The bride eventually made her way to the church by car, still beaming.

A Heartfelt Wisbech Wedding Ceremony at St Paul’s Church

The ceremony was intimate, meaningful, and everything they wished for.
Because the rain persisted, we skipped the confetti moment and focused on close family photos inside the church — and they turned out beautifully.

This Bride Loves a Dip!

Oh, and this girl knows and loves to dip — the iconic “groom dips bride” pose.

The Hop Rooms: Wisbech’s Hidden Gem

Next stop: The Hop Rooms on North Brink — and honestly, it’s one of Wisbech’s best-kept secrets. From the outside, you’d never guess there’s this truly gorgeous venue with lush private gardens tucked behind it. It feels like stepping into another world — peaceful, green, and full of beautiful photo spots.

The bride added her personal touch to everything.
She’s the owner of CODA CO., a personalised equestrian wear brand that creates beautifully crafted custom clothing and accessories for riders and horse lovers. Naturally, she brought that creativity into the wedding décor — making all the personalised decorations herself. Every detail felt so thoughtful and so them.

Hawk-Eyed Creatives Watching the Weather

Molly (Fisher Wedding Films) and I became literal weather hawks that afternoon.
Every couple of minutes we’d peek outside, silently negotiating with the sky:

“Just one break… please…”

So when we finally got a tiny pause in the rain?
We RAN.
We grabbed the couple, escaped into the gardens, and got some stunning portraits before the next shower.

Totally worth it.

After a whole day of rain, the skies finally decided to be kind.
Right near the end of the evening, the clouds parted and full sunshine streamed in — the most magical golden light, just in time for the first dance.

And of course… we can’t forget the bride’s outfit change!
From a stunning princess ballgown, she switched into the most gorgeous sparkling mini dress — ready to dance the night away in pure style.

If you’re planning your own Wisbech wedding at The Hop Rooms, I can already tell you — this venue is a dream even on the rainiest of days.”

A rain-kissed, joy-filled, beautifully real summer wedding day that I’ll never forget.
